Wedding Highlight – Matt & Ruchi

A beautiful day for a beautiful occasion, Matt and Ruchi’s wedding was a pure delight to work.  It was a mixture of a traditional Indian wedding and an All-American wedding.  The immense culture and learning I personally took from the event was well worth attending alone.  Truly, this Fremont, CA event was something I’ll always hold near.

I filmed for three days in accordance with the traditional ceremonies in Indian weddings.  These standard definition shoots included the Garba, the Mehndi and the wedding day events, including the wonderful reception, of course.  For the Garba and Mehndi I produced single camera shoots.  For the wedding day happenings I contracted a second shooter to produce a multi-camera shoot.  Later, I edited an extensive wedding video and created a four disc set for the bride and groom, which included the Garba, the Mehndi, the wedding, the cocktail hour, the reception, pictures, special traditions, outtakes, a short highlight, an extended highlight, the wedding music and one of the discs being a CD of the wedding music.

Energetic dancing, gorgeous scenery, spectacular garments, tasty food, horseback entrances, an excellent crowd and endless smiles made this wedding one to remember.  Good times.

Thanks for watching!

Tha Block w/ Urijah Faber – Promo Teaser

This is the promo teaser I created some years back for Tha Block, a webisode series I was working on with MMA/UFC superstar, and old friend of mine, Urijah Faber.  I followed Urijah and his Team Alpha Male crew around for a solid six months getting footage of fights, interviews, daily life, funny happenings, original scripted content and more.  We got a good amount of buzz from this video.  And everything was going well until an unfortunate turn of events.  Siiiiiigh…..

Although Urijah and I continue to work together, this project has been put on hold for the time being….I stress time being.  Too much work was put into it and I feel strongly about it’s quality and worth.  So, it’s all about adjusting to the circumstances and timing.  I have a lot of good stuff on these guys and the plan is to one day get it going again, either by turning the footage I gathered into a film of some sort, or, doing as originally was thought out and release webisodes.  Either way, I’ll have to gather new footage in addition to this older stuff in order to bring viewers up to date with this crazy bunch of S.O.B.’s!  You have to know when to let projects go.  But you also have to know how to see failure vs hiccups.  This project hasn’t failed.  Tha Block’s just marinating.  🙂

For more on Urijah and Team Alpha Male, and boy is there a lot out there on them, visit Urijah’s website at www.urijahfaber.com.  You can also just turn on the TV….

Thanks for watching!

Mercy High School – 2011 Graduation Highlight

I’ve produced the graduation video for Mercy High School of Burlingame, CA for the last four years.  It’s always a pleasure to see the smiling faces with each graduation class.  And shooting in the beautiful Saint Ignatius Church in San Francisco is awesome.  This is a highlight I created using some footage from the class of 2011’s ceremony.  I’ll be posting stuff from the last couple years soon.

For this event I shoot, capture audio using wireless systems, edit the video down to a clean play and then produce the needed DVD count.  This 2011 footage was shot in standard definition.  I of course shoot in high definition as well.

Thanks for watching!

L.O.S. – The Dream (Part 1)

I have been tinkering with webisodes for a while now.  The first one I ever did was a six parter following a couple of dudes with dreams of making it big.  This is part 1 of that webisode series, entitled L.O.S.: The Dream.  I’ll be putting the rest of the webisodes from this mini-series up after their unveiling on the upcoming, brand spanking new one studios site, which will have first dibs.  So, keep your eyes peeled.  If they’re one here, then the new one studios site is up and running, and you should probably check that out too…..just sayin’.

This is a pretty simple video, but fun.  Sometimes, it’s all about having fun.  My peeps involved in the video with me came to me and we quickly threw this together.  I did all production.  And I plan on doing more webisodes in the future using higher quality equipment and putting more time into them overall.  They’ll most definitely be shot in high def, unlike this series.  All in all, good stuff.  Enjoy!

Max Preps – Football Individual Highlight

I have done contract work for CBS affiliate Max Preps in the past.  This is a small clip from a game highlight of an individual player, who is the running back.  In addition to filming an entire game for Max Preps, later editing it down into a fun highlight for the fans, players and coaches, I also do these individual highlights for parents, players and coaches.  These individual highlights are great for college recruitment, personal archives and eternal glory.  And I can do them for any sport, not simply football.

Sports I’ve shot:

– Football
– Wrestling
– Rowing
– Basketball
– Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
– Judo
– MMA
– More!

This game was shot in standard definition.  But I also shoot in high definition, of course.  All areas of production were carried out by me.  Always a blast doing these!

Balloon Presents Michael Fey of McAfee on Info Security – Video Audio

I was contracted by NE Entertainment, in conjunction with creable Films, both out of L.A., to record and mix audio for the shoot for this video by the company Balloon.  Balloon was interviewing Mike Fey, CTO of McAfee.  I utilized a wireless lav mic setup that fed into an external recorder.  A shotgun mic was also fed directly into the RED Scarlet camera being used to shoot the footage as a backup.  The shoot was held at Intel Studios in Santa Clara, CA.  It was a fun gig with good people!

Thanks for listening.

Essence of Eternity – Feature Film Audio

The following trailer is for an upcoming feature called Essence of Eternity, by Director Richard Ryan and his production company Ox Films.  This feature is filming in multiple locations.  But for the majority of shoots Ox Films had in Sacramento, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park and Lake Tahoe, CA, I was contracted as the Sound Recordist/Mixer.  I’ll be posting more audio I captured in my my upcoming Film Audio Reel, as well as including future clips with the audio as Ox Films releases them.

For now, enjoy the following teaser, which has just a small piece of the audio I recorded at the end of the clip.  It’s the part where the lead actor says, “Where’s my wife?!”  Believe me, I should be able to post some clips with way more of my audio from this film in the near future….hopefully when it’s been properly mastered.  But at least you get to hear it in its raw form!

I recorded and mixed the audio using wireless lav units, as well as a boom mic.  I had feeds going into a 16 bit recorder, a 24 bit recorder and the RED Scarlet camera that the scene was shot with.  Always get backups!  😉

***UPDATE!!!  Below the first clip described is a new trailer Ox Films recently released that has some more of my audio for the film.  In this clip you can hear audio I recorded and mixed at the following time markers……0:28 – 0:31 (Bathroom Fight & Boat), 1:04 – 1:07  (no audio but I did record for that scene), 1:35 – 1:37 (guys running), 1:42 – 1:48 (sitting in chairs), 1:56 – 2:00 (bathroom fight).  A lot of this was done with multi mic / multi recorder setups, including wireless lavs, boundary mics, shotgun mics, a Tascam HD-P2, a Zoom H6 and more.  I’ll be posting more of my audio bits from this film as they are released with video clips like this.  But, again, I’ll also be post stuff in my personal audio reel(s) as well.

Thanks for listening!
