January 2015

Well friends, there’s a lot going on with your boy at the moment.  Not a lot of time, but I promise to start making more regular updates for peeps to keep up on things with me.

What I’ll let you know for the time being is that I’m kicking 2015 off hard!  Thing is 2014 carried right over into 2015.  So, I never have really had a break from the grind.  But no complaining here!  Nothing worth anything comes easy.  It takes focus, dedication and intelligent perseverance to make your goals happen.  Let’s all remember that going into this brand spanking new year!  …..by the way, it’s 2015!  HOLY CRAP!  You can’t tell me that doesn’t at all feel weird, especially if you were born last century like me.  We’re in the freaking future!

Anyway, big updates coming.  Working hard on my feature film Fight 4 Your Life and everything with it.  Finishing up several shorts in post.  In pre-production for another feature my boy Alonzo Chism wrote call Hood Damnation.  STILL working on the new one studios site.  TRYING to keep up on all the social media stuff.  ….Hmmmm….what else??  Video projects for clients….yep.  Looking for more work….always….holler at me.  New reels, media posts on sites and an overall expanded portfolio….gotta stay fresh.  Working on a comic…check.  Getting back on my music shiz…..uh huh.  Still getting my new pad and office together….sure.   Planning for the coming months’ events and happenings….mandatory.  Networking….pushing hard.  Having a life….NOPE!

Updates soon amigos.  Believe it.  Do it.

Therapydia – Flagship Clinic Program Video Audio

Therapydia is an exciting new company helping people be at their best physically.  The following video was done by Steel-Edge, a production company based in Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA.  I was contracted by Steel-Edge to record and mix the audio for the San Francisco based shoot for this video.  So, as you watch the video, listen up!  But note that I did not shoot or edit this clip.  That’s all Steel-Edge.  Me = Audio.  I used wireless lapel and boom mic systems to capture the audio to both the camera and my external recorder.  Some of the raw audio from this shoot will be included in my upcoming audio reel as well…if you’re interested.

Thanks for listening!

Mercy High School – 2011 Graduation Highlight

I’ve produced the graduation video for Mercy High School of Burlingame, CA for the last four years.  It’s always a pleasure to see the smiling faces with each graduation class.  And shooting in the beautiful Saint Ignatius Church in San Francisco is awesome.  This is a highlight I created using some footage from the class of 2011’s ceremony.  I’ll be posting stuff from the last couple years soon.

For this event I shoot, capture audio using wireless systems, edit the video down to a clean play and then produce the needed DVD count.  This 2011 footage was shot in standard definition.  I of course shoot in high definition as well.

Thanks for watching!

Obama’s Speech – 9.6.2012

Watched #Obama’s speech.  Good stuff.  No matter your opinion or views, the man was dealt a tough deck of cards.  And I do agree change will never happen without struggle, especially if we quit.  We’ll see if he can continue progress….that is if he wins another term.

So far, from what I’m hearing and seeing in the midst of all the political mumbo jumbo, he’s got my vote….again.  All in all, I just hope #America can come together and push.  Nothing is won without hard work and determination, or else we’d all be rich playboys and playgirls who are ex-professional athletes that graduated from the best universities with honors on our way to a Nobel Prize for something and starring in our own movie with a Grammy-winning soundtrack provided by none other than us.

Think with your mind peeps, not with the other guy’s.  Believe it.  Do it.

Focusing on the Positive…Helps when You Luck Out

Okay, negativity kills.  My car was broken into last night in #SanFrancisco.  I fell asleep and left 2 important items in my car by accident.  My bad.  I know better.  My window was shattered.  The items were yanked.  I was pissed.

The main reasons I was pissed were:

1.  I had just shot an event earlier that day.  One of the tapes with the event footage was in one of the 2 cases stolen.   Not only was I now not going to get paid, but all the memories for the persons in the event were going to be lost.  I also would never get the gig again, which I’ve done for 3 years now.  Ultimately, this would just cost me money and rep.  But it would mean so much more lost to the event participants.  I just felt horrible about it.  You can’t replace memories.

2.  A piece of equipment I had borrowed from a colleague  was in one of the 2 cases stolen as well.  This meant I would have to explain what happened to him.  It also meant he would never likely trust me again.  Furthermore, I’d lose even more money on what was suppose to make me money because I’d feel absolutely obligated to pay him back.

3.  I left the stuff in my car in the first place, evoking the incident.  Yes, it shouldn’t happen regardless.  But you have to be street smart.

Obviously, other items were stolen that were within the cases.  But the above reasons are really why I was so angry.  I mean, overall, none of the items were worth much to the low life individual who stole them.  And they likely knew this.  They don’t care though.  If they can get $20 for their next hit then it’s a success.

But to me, to the people at the event, to my colleague, the items meant a great deal.  This is what frustrates me beyond words, truly.  The broken window sucks major.  But my car can be fixed through my insurance.  Hell, I might have even been able to get reimbursed for some of the items.  But the reimbursement would never replace those memories, trust and future possible work lost.

As strange clouds passed overhead, after having lashed out in anger to the wind and then doing a grid search, after I spoke with some nearby homeless gentlemen and having filed my police report, as I parked to enter my girlfriend’s apartment to pack up my stuff and leave the city I now was in disagreement with, there they were.  Sitting in front of my gf’s apartment complex were my cases….just chillin’.   I was dumbfounded.

Whatever the reason for the thief’s abandonment of my important items, whether too heavy, not worthy enough of a quick sale, whatever, I’ll never know.  And I don’t care.  All I do know is I am beyond fortunate.  I am beyond relieved.

Everything was intact.  Nothing was even scattered….well, except for my mind.

So thankful.  So thankful nothing else was stolen (a lot more could have been).  So thankful to not have to worry.  So thankful to not have to explain.  So thankful for the positive overcoming the negative.

Just damn thankful.
